Berlyne Ann Williams was born in New Orleans in 1953 to parents Sarah Schiro and Boy Williams. Her childhood was filled with many first and second cousins she loved as her siblings. After her family moved to Reserve, she attended St. Peter’s Catholic School and graduated from Leon Godchaux High School in 1971. She was a member of the band, volleyball, basketball and softball team. A lifelong lover of sports, she was present at Tiger Stadium with her Uncle Jimmy for Billy Cannon’s Halloween night run when she was 6 years old.
She met Todd Trosclair at a softball tournament, and they married in 1979. They built a home in Destrehan, and had 4 children, Todd Jr., Tasha, and Tonia, and the late Tate Joseph. Berlyne worked as a Parts Manager at Toyota, and was recognized as one of the top 50 managers for 11 years in a row. Eventually becoming a stay at home mother, she devoted her time to giving her children the best childhood they could have imagined. When an empty nester she devoted herself to making the most of her mother’s twilight years. All throughout her life there were endless amounts of road trips, laughter, and love. She was honored to be Godmother or more affectionately “Nanny” to Christi Duhe', Troy Schiro, Jesse Scott, Shannon Hock, Ashley Trosclair, Jill Cadow, Monica Drewes, and Andrew Boudreaux.
She loved to travel, having visited extensively throughout the United States and Canada, plus making overseas voyages to Japan, Hawaii, Italy, Croatia, Poland, France, and Australia. She made multiple pilgrimages to Medjugorje and Israel and volunteered for multiple mission trips in Mexico.
Berlyne lived her life in the service of the Lord, her animal friends, and her community. Her vocation was to work daily to make an immediate impact on those in need and humanity. There are countless testaments to her generosity. She literally gave the clothes off her back to a distressed NYC woman. She loved animals and would rescue wounded and strays. She had a clowder of feral cats that lived by the local supermarket picked up and spayed. These cats were fed by a man, and she made sure to find him to tell him the cats would be back. She was moved to be a part of numerous charities and volunteered with varying organizations most consistently as a part of the SCB church and affiliates.
Proud grandmother of Daphne Warren, Tallullah Waterfallen, and Wesley Warren. Any of her spare time was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. Beautiful inside and out, she always had a smile on her face and was ready with a hug, laugh, or prayer card for any situation. She will be greatly missed.
