Bob was born March 16, 1942 in Milford, CT to the late Ruth Lawyer Bache and the late Theodore Thomas Bache. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary, two children, Liz Hawver (married to Kevin Hawver) of Ft. Mill, SC and Adam Bache (married to Jenn Bache) of Westbrook, CT, as well as three grandchildren, Justin, Megan, and Ethan and two great grandchildren, Cayden and Cooper.
Bob initially attended school in Milford and then spent two years at Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, GA before graduating Notre Dame High School in West Haven, CT. He attended Quinnipiac College for three years where he was on the college’s first soccer team. Mr. Bache joined the USAF in June of 1963 and was stationed in Naha AB, Okinawa and McCord AFB in Tacoma, WA. It was at McCord where he met and soon married his wife Mary on September 10, 1966. He attended St. Martin’s University in Lacy, WA and graduated in May of 1968, with a degree in business administration. Bob was employed as a computer analyst/programmer by Sikorsky Aircraft and other CT manufacturing companies before he joined The Stanley Works where he spent many years. While at Stanley he earned a Master’s Degree in Information Technology from the Hartford Graduate School in Hartford, CT.
In 1993 Bob relocated to Charlotte, NC where he was the Director of Technology for the Alemite Company for 12 years before his retirement in 2005. He moved back to Connecticut in 2015 and resided in Niantic. During retirement, his favorite pastime was woodworking, where he spent many hours turning out tables, benches, and treasure boxes for friends and family. Bob leaves behind many friends, neighbors, and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Flanders Fish Market and Restaurant in East Lyme on March 16, 2024 from 3pm to 6pm.
