Robert Eric Lamb

(June 22, 1927 – August 18, 2016)

Surrounded by the love of his family and friends, Robert (Bob) Lamb passed away at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 89.Beloved husband of Shirley (Amos) Lamb for 65 years next month. Loving father of Bobbi Lynn (Joe) DeLine; and Laura Lynn (Michael) Wegelin, with whom he resided. Cherished grandfather (“M.R.G.”) of Jordan Robert DeLine . Bob will also be lovingly remembered by his sister Barbara (Carlo) Bellon, several nieces, one nephew and their spouses and families. He was predeceased by his parents William Eric Lamb and Emmeline (Nowers) Lamb; also brothers-in-law Don Amos and John Stevenson, and sisters-in-law Pearl (Currie) Amos and Hazel (Amos) Stevenson. Robert lived in Niagara Falls all his life, attended Simcoe St. School and N.F.C.V.I. He worked for Canadian Ohio Brass Co. Ltd., Echlin and Jack Dow Auto Supplies, and retired in 1997.Bob was among the first recipients to receive the “Order of Niagara” in May 2000. He was a current faithful member of Christ Church Choir since September 1943 (73 years); was Lay Reader from 1953 for forty-one years; then received the honour of the title “Lay Reader Emeritus” for ten years (1994 – 2004). He still enjoyed reading the lessons, and served in various capacities at the Church over the years. It was at Christ Church that Bob & Shirley met, when he was seventeen.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. The family will attend the interment at St. John’s Columbarium. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church September 10, 2016 at 11:00 am. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Christ Church, Niagara Falls, or a charity of one’s choice, and would be greatly appreciated.
