Peter John Angus McMillan

It is with great sadness that our family announces Peter's sudden passing on Friday, November 24, 2023, at his home in Ridgeway, at the age of 67. Peter was predeceased by his parents, John F. McMillan, Marianne (McRae) McMillan, and brother-in-law Keith. He is survived by sisters Heather, Ruth (Mike), Mary (Paul), Niece Natalie (Wayne), Nephews, Jason (Kim) and Ryan, great nephews Matthew, and Dylan, and great niece Danielle (Dani).

Peter was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, on March 6, 1956. He was a student at NFCVI, and later attended Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology, receiving a diploma for an Electronics Engineering Technician (1993).

Peter partnered with his friend William to start a computer repair business: The PC Guys. After it closed Peter was involved in various other ventures.

Peter was very clever, creative, and articulate. He learned to play a guitar without ever having to take a lesson. He could solve complex math problems with ease. He had a very dry sense of humor and his quick wit would bring a smile to anyone’s face. He excelled in writing and could compose a story of an event as neatly and concise as if he were a reporter at the scene.

Peter was a member of The Lighthouse Church in Chippawa, Ontario. He studied the Bible fervently, composed, and shared many writings of his beliefs and interpretations of scriptures. He was very passionate about his faith and his beliefs provided him a great sense of comfort throughout his entire life.

Peter will be missed by his two best friends who continued their friendship from the time they met; Rod (Roddy), whom he met in childhood; and William, whom he met later. A special thank you to William who provided unconditional support and friendship through both happy and difficult times, especially in recent years.

Service to be held at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls on Saturday December 9, 2023. Gathering time starting at 11:30 a.m. with the Funeral service at 12:00 p.m. (noon), followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery, Stanley Avenue, Niagara Falls.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peter’s memory to the Lighthouse Church in Chippawa, The Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of your choice.
