At Lundy Manor Niagara Falls, on Tuesday November 16, 2010 in her 92nd year. Melissa Jane (Norton) Ward, beloved wife of the late Robert Douglas Ward, (1977). Loved mother of Bonnie Hodgson (Gary), Niagara Falls. Devoted grandmother of Craig Hodgson, Niagara Falls and Bruce Hodgson (Emma). Dear aunt of Barbara, Susan, Tim, Dan and Mary Beth. She is predeceased by her sister in law Connie Sullivan.
Mrs. Ward was born in St. Catharines and was a longtime resident of Niagara Falls where she was a member of The Women’s Institute and The Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Lundy’s Lane United Church where she was active in the U.C.W. as well as several ladies groups. She was an avid quilter, and enjoyed Rug Hooking, baking and spending time in her garden.
Resting at the funeral chapel of HETHERNGTON AND DEANS, 5176 Victoria Ave., where the family will receive friends Thursday 7-9. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday November 19, 2010, at 1:30 PM. Interment Fairview cemetery. As an expression of sympathy contributions to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
