Linda Jean Elliott

(January 3, 1943-June 25, 2023)

We are sad to announce that Linda Elliott passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke in Hamilton, Ontario at the age of 80 after lengthy medical issues.

Linda was born on January 3, 1943, in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Predeceased by her parents Irene (2015) and Marvin (1970) Elliott and her sister Marilyn Mashford (1986). Linda is survived by her brother Ron (Mary) Elliott in Calgary, Alberta as well as four nieces, three grandnieces and three grandnephews. Linda has been especially thankful to her niece Cheryl Holton and family of Port Robinson, Ontario for their extensive assistance over the past several years. Marianne Stepanek, a nursing friend, was a faithful regular visitor to Linda during her long stays in hospitals and long-term care.

After graduating from Niagara Falls Collegiate in 1960, Linda entered nursing training at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton. She spent her entire nursing career at St. Joseph’s retiring as Manager of Nursing. Her skills were utilized most effectively advocating for her mother particularly when she was a resident in long term care after reaching 100 years.

Cremation has taken place. At Linda’s request there will be no funeral service or celebration of life. There will be an urn committal taking place at Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls on Monday July 17th, 2023 at 10:00am. Those wishing to attend are asked to please meet at the main gates of Fairview Cemetery on Stanley Avenue.
