It is with profound sadness we announce Christine’s unexpected passing on December 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 37. Beloved wife and best friend for 16 years to Scott. Cherished and devoted Mom to Ethan. Dearly loved daughter of Pat and the late Joyce Simonics. She will be lovingly remembered by her in-laws Dave and Kathy Kinghorn; her sister-in-law Melissa Kinghorn, and her nephews Maverick and Bentley; as well as her extended family and her many, many friends. She will also be sadly missed by her faithful Corgi’s: Brandi and Madison.
Above all of the wonderful things Christine loved to do, her son Ethan was the centre of her world. Ethan was her most prized adventure and her role as his mother was not lost on her. Christine was always Ethan’s North Star. Christine will now take on the role of Ethan’s Guardian Angel. Christine walked through life with her best friend Scott by her side. He was her biggest supporter, being her strength when she needed him to be, as well as her comedic relief both at the best times and then most inappropriate times. The laughs shared between Christine and Scott will carry Scott throughout his life and remain with him forever. During Covid, Christine shared many car adventures searching for scrap metal with Scott and Ethan and truly cherished these uninterrupted family times. Christine and Scott were a dedicated couple who remained completely supportive of one another in all of life’s decisions.
Christine lived in the moment and valued experiences over items. She was always up for a spontaneous adventure, seeing where the path took her. She held on to and cherished all the memories she made along her travels of the world.
Christine also took great pride in her role as an Addictions Counselor with ARID Group Homes and dedicated her life to serving others and helping those who struggled with their sobriety.
In keeping with Christine’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 2 – 4 and 7- 9 p.m. at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Ave. Niagara Falls. All those planning to attend are encouraged to come casually dressed in honour of Christine. If desired, memorial donations made to a Go Fund Me fundraiser created to assist with Ethan’s future care would be appreciated by the family. Please consider sharing a memory or story of Christine below for her family as they navigate this extraordinary loss.
