Marrilyn was born in Hampton Township on January 21, 1937. She was a longtime Sussex County resident spending many years in Sparta and Newton. Marrilyn graduated from Newton High School. She worked in the clerical department for Sunrise House in Lafayette for 21 years prior to her retirement in 2013.
Marrilyn found joy in her career connecting with many individuals through compassion. She was a dedicated mother and took great pride in raising her family. Marrilyn enjoyed long drives through the country taking in the beauty of nature. She was extremely proud of her Irish heritage and a big fan of the Newton Braves and the town of Newton. Marrilyn dearly loved her dog, Missy.
Marrilyn was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Rebecca (Hornbeck) McKeeby; her husband Thomas Nystrand Sr. in 1994; her brothers, Benjamin, Donald and Robert McKeeby; and her sister, Lois Goble. She is survived by her children, Thomas Nystrand Jr. and wife, Kristine, Kathy Beers and husband, Steve, and David Nystrand; her grandchildren, Michelle, Kelly, Nikki, and Noel; and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Richard McKeeby (Trudi), Alyce McKeeby (Bob Lazar), and Betty McClellan; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, July 20, 2024 Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ, with funeral services beginning at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Newton Cemetery, Lawnwood Ave, Newton, NJ.
