Aunt Jean was a beloved aunt, sister and friend. Born May 16, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Storms and Marcella Marion Storms. She was a 1947 graduate of Butler HS and was employed for many years at the American Hard Rubber Company in Butler and later at Aircraft Radio Corporation in Boonton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Horace “Sparky” Ayres. Over 25 years ago, Jean and Sparky retired to North Carolina where they spent many happy years enjoying the company of their nephew, Joe Barrett, his wife Meg and their 5 sons, Ryan, Colin, Neil, Kevin and Nick.
She is survived by 2 sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Catherine) Martinez of Bloomingdale and Mrs. John (Jeanette) Dondero of Pennsylvania. Left to cherish her memory are nieces Diane Dondero Pizzulo, Denise Dondero Wilson, Karen Dondero Reper, Dawn Martinez Kayal and nephews Michael Dondero, Steve Barrett, Joe Barrett, Randy Barrett, Glenn Barrett and Chris Barrett. She is also survived by numerous grand nieces and nephews and many great-grand nieces and nephews whose photographs she treasured.
Holy Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dorothy Catholic Church in Lincolnton, NC with Reverend David Miller and Reverend Matthew Buettner officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. Joseph RC Cemetery in Echo Lake, NJ.
