was born on 11 September 1964 in San Juan
Tepezonte, La Paz, El Salvador to his mother
and father Maria Graciela Rodriguez and
Francisco Antonio Alvarado. It would be in that
small town in El Salvador that the beautiful life
of a strong, charismatic family man would begin.
There he met the young woman who he would later
call his wife and mother of his children. Life in El
Salvador wasn't easy, dangerous at times. For this reason he quickly made plans
to move his beloved Flor and daughter to the United States in hopes of a safer,
brighter future for his new family. He was successful in doing so. After many
years of hard work and sacrifice he had established a home in Santa Clarita,
California where he could raise his growing family.
Though not always a witness of Jehovah, he played a crucial role in his family's
ability to serve Him. Without complaint he supported their efforts and ensured
they had all they needed, at all times. It is his hard work and dedication that
those who knew him best will remember. Secondly, they'll remember his sense
of humor and his love of sharing a laugh with anyone he met. He also had an
enormous sense of giving which extended well beyond his family. Often he was
called upon to lend a hand and with great enthusiasm he made himself available
to help as many as he could. After twenty-eight years of being surrounded by
Jehovah’s people he opened up his heart to Him. On 09 October 2016 he was
baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Despite the many difficulties in health
and difficult decisions he faced, he remained loyal to his faith. As challenging
as the last decade of his life must have been, no one would have been able to
guess as much. His heart full of joy and happiness masked any pain he might
have been in physically. It is that joy and happiness he would have wanted us
to remember. It is his infectious smile we hope to see again.
Oscar is survived by his loving wife Flor, his children Silvia, Oscar “Ernie” and
Denise, his beautiful grandchildren Kaden and Leilani, his siblings Mauricio,
Nelson, Ruth Milagro and Gloria Marina, and his mother Maria Graciela
