NINA ROBINSON COLEMAN passed away on Easter morning April 8, 2012. She was born in a small town on the island of Sicily and named after her maternal grandmother, Antonina. Nina was the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Schembri, who immigrated to the U.S. in the 1920’s. She grew up and attended school in Detroit, Michigan. Nina’s family moved to Glendale, California in the late 1940’s, after WWII. She married Robert (Bob) W. Robinson in 1951, had three daughters, and resided in the city of La Crescenta, California for more than 40 years. Sadly, Bob passed away in 1977. Over the next nine years Nina enjoyed traveling around the country. In 1986 Nina married Francis (Frank) J. Coleman. Nina and Frank resided in Valencia, California for the last seven years and were members of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in North Hollywood. Nina was a homemaker for almost 20 years and worked in the clerical field prior to her retirement. She is survived by her husband, Frank; her three daughters, Patty Mayden, Betty Paquet and Susie Riley; son-in-law Steve Riley; six grandchildren, Staci Kennelly and her husband Andy, Eric Webber and his wife Jamie, Matt Riley and his fiance April Meraz, Marie Mayden, Joe Mayden and Stephanie Reyna and her husband Mark; and five great-grandchildren, Kyle, Dani, and Sammy Kennelly, and Emily and Sara Webber. A memorial service and reception will be held for Nina on Wed., May 9, 2012, at 10am, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 10850 Moorpark St., North Hollywood, CA 91602. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nina’s name to Villa Scalabrini Retirement Home, 10631 Vinedale St., Sun Valley, CA 91352, Attn: Laura.
