He is survived by Irvette, his wife of 63 1/2 years, children: Patricia Wohlers (Bryan), Cheryl Smith, and Rodney Smith, as well as eight grandchildren: Nicholas Wohlers, Sammantha Johnston, Clarissa Wohlers, Cecile’ Smith, Dakota Baker, Chloe Lee, Averie Lee, Riley Smith, and four great-grandchildren: Dami Wohlers, Wylie Welch, Athena Wohlers, Eve Wohlers. He is also survived by his younger brother, Dan Smith, of Hesperia, California. He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Argyll Smith, brothers Bob and John Smith, sisters Louise Smith and Wanda Rowley, and son Dale Smith.
Jerry was born in Independence, Missouri on June 29, 1937. As a young teenager, Jerry attended a Jack MacArthur youth event where he professed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He enjoyed working on and racing all types of vehicles. Jerry served in the United States Army and was a steadfast employee of North American Aviation/Rockwell/Boeing. His family was always his top priority, his first thought, his motivation and love.
