John David Neumann, 77, of Newburgh, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020. He was born August 27, 1943 to the late Charles and Clara Neumann.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and retired from Alcoa in 2002 after 31 years. John loved to fish, deer hunting, bowling, coaching baseball, mushroom hunting and feeding his fish and deer. He enjoyed mowing grass and tending his flowers. He also enjoyed time camping with his best friends.
John was preceded in death by brothers, Bill and Hugo Neumann; sisters, Bertha Mae Dame, Rosalia Simpkins and Madeline Rexing; brother in law and sisters in law, Elvera Neumann, Mary Neumann, August Luigs, James Barr and John Geuss.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Neumann; children, Jeff Neuman (Crystal) of Newburgh and Jennifer Neumann of Evansville; grandkids, Isaac, Ethan, Grant, Hayden and Evan; step-grandkids, Sofie and Pierce; sisters, Agnes Luigs, Antoinette Barr and Sally Guess, all of Evansville, and brothers, Sylvester Neumann of Evansville, Lawrence Neumann of St. Louis, Harold Neumann (Rosie) of St. Wendel and Larry Neumann (Rita) of Evansville.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Road, officiated by Fr. Claude Burns, with entombment in St. John Cemetery. Friends may visit from 3:00 to 8:00p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261 and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
