Wow. I’m so sadden to learn of your passing.  We met in 1990 in Corfu Greece. We shared 3 weeks of cliff jumping para  sailing and long talks until dawn.  We continued our friendship back in the states.  You came to NJ to meet my family and I sat hours at Maggie’s bringing friends to meet you.  My nieces got such a kick out of you when we would pick them up from school at Spence and you helped me babysit. You were just a great friend.  I will never forget when you came to visit me at work on the NYMEX!  It was the day we invaded the Middle East and the crude pit was crazy.  You stayed hours helping me!!! I’m sorry we lost touch. You were always in my thoughts.   Sending my condolences to your family.  Heaven gained a beautiful Angel Seamus 💕 Until we meet again 💕 Rest In Peace 

Mark was one of the kindest gentleman, I have ever met! Mark was in my brother Timmy's class at Our Lady of Victory, they were always together, smiling and laughing and sharing great stories!  I will miss your laugh, smiling face and how you made everyone think they were the most important people; in your company.
Rest in Peace!  Until we meet again May God hold in the palm of his hands!

Mark we had many a late night time together and I miss you and the time we had. I will never EVER forget that SMILE.  RIP BROTHER

So very sad to hear this news over the last couple of days. To say Mark lit up a room is an understatement. I met Mark in NYC, Dublin and Skerries on many occasions, and on every occasion I laughed a lot and enjoyed his company tremendously. His love of fun and laughter was matched only by his warmth for the people he met. 

In the small town of Skerries in north Dublin where I live, over 5,000km away, people are talking with fondness about Mark in the streets when they meet. That is the kind of impact he had on people, and I believe we will speak of him fondly until the day we join him. Rest in peace Mark, it really really was a pleasure knowing you. Get some sleep now...

Dearest Mark,
You plucked me out of the crowd in Corfu and taught me how to tend bar alongside you. We had more fun and outrageous times than any lads deserve to; you opened my eyes to so much. Our friendship endured so many years; no pressure or expectation but a genuine enjoyment of each other's company. I am so distraught and heartbroken now that you've gone. I so wish I'd visited you one last time; you meant more to me than you'll ever know. If you're looking down from heaven, know that I love you dearly and I'll hold onto our hilarious memories forever. Great son of a great family.  Honoured and blessed to have known you. Wherever we would get together(NY, NJ, Jamaica), you would calmly command the respect of the room or group with your wit, intelligence, and jokes/stories. NYC has lost a great chef, host, and a fine lad. We are worse off for it, but your spirit will remain with us, and we are glad that you are at peace.  Cheers.    Gavin, and the Wellington Family.

Mark's fight and persistence showed his determination to battle his cancer.  Condolences to the Whelan family that battled right by his side.  May he rest eternally in peace

God Bless you and my sympathies to The Whelan Family. Many great ole memories with Marty and his Big (younger) brother Mark with the Big Heart.In the short time you were here you "touched all the bases" my friend. See you down the road.

We'll miss you pal.....we were lucky to have grown up with you in our lives.

Your kindness & candor will always be remembered.  I always noticed how people loved to be around you.  You touched every person you came in contact with.
