FEIN, Marcia Benina (nee Leifschutz) died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on October 16, 2023. She was born to Ted and Sophie Leifschutz, in New York City on the fourth of July, 1943, and married her one true love, Harold Fein, in June of 1962. Marcia graduated from Hunter High School, and Hunter College and then earned her Masters’ degree in physical fitness from Hunter. She was a pioneer in the field of corporate physical fitness, heading up programs at PepsiCo and American Express. Marcia was the essential hub of a sprawling family for whom she cared ferociously; acting as health advocate, information center, and meet-up coordinator for endless interlocking groups of friends, family, and loved ones. To know her for just a moment was to love her for a lifetime. Marcia battled health challenges for two decades, yet she never met a physical obstacle she could not surmount. She is survived by her beloved sisters, Bess (Nick) and Alexandra (Paula). Marcia also took incomparable pride and pleasure from her sons, Steven and Aaron, their wives, Lauren and Dahlia, and her cherished grandchildren, Rachel, Carly, Coby and Sopher. As happens in all love stories, Marcia died holding the hand of her beloved husband, Harold. Our thanks to the staff at NYU Langone and to her extraordinary caregivers.
