Beloved wife of Harvey. Loving mother of Anne and Glenn Roberts, and Alan and Suzy Rothenberg. Adoring grandmother of Jake, Jonathan, Jessica, Jillian and Joel. Dear sister of Lily Finster.
Born in Antwerp, Belgium, Judy is a survivor who escaped through France and Spain to Israel. After the war, she returned to Belgium and in 1953 came to New York to finish school at Highland Manor and NYU
After her wedding to Harvey, Judy taught French at Hempstead high school. In 1962 she moved to Castle Village, which would be the place Judy finally called home. On Cabrini Blvd, she made lifelong friends who became family with whom she shared many traditions.
Judy worked with the American-Israel Cultural Foundation (AICF) travelling to Israel and many other places. Summers were spent in their house by the bay in Southampton, NY where she played tennis and backgammon and hosted wonderful family gatherings.
After the birth of her 5 grandchildren, she and Harvey moved to Boca Raton, Florida. She loved her new friends, theater, ballet and her involvement with Hadassah and JAFCO.
Judith Rothenberg was a strong, funny, quick-witted remarkable woman, a great story teller who was adored by all. She loved her husband beyond words, adored her kids and grandkids and loved her friends fiercely.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.riversidememorialchapel.com for the Rothenberg/Roberts family.
