Joyce Jean Paisley was born on September 3, 1937 in St. Ann, Jamaica West Indies to George and Nina Fullerton. After experiencing severe abdominal pain on April 9,2020, she was rushed to the hospital. Her condition deteriorated on April 11, 2020, she suffered a cardiac arrest and was resuscitated. After a brief visit from her daughter on April 12, 2020, she went home to be with the Lord. She was 82 years old.
Here is a synopsis of her life story. Joyce attended the Sturge Town All Age School in Jamaica. After leaving school she became gainfully employed. She was a very hard-working woman. With the passion she had for hospitality, she was led to work in the tourist industry. She served her employer well by managing his villa in Runaway Bay Jamaica. Prior to working at the villa, she worked at the Green Grotto Caves in Discovery Bay Jamaica. She also had an affinity for business. Before migrating to the United States in 1981, she operated a small grocery shop which she owned. Upon entering the United States she continued to work hard. Joyce was a very loving, caring and compassionate person. With these attributes it was easy for her to gain employment taking care of the sick and elderly in their homes. She also worked as a cashier in the supermarket until she retired in 2004 to take care of her sick husband.
This is an overview of her family life. In her early 20’s she married Altamont Paisley (who was deceased March 2005). The Union produced four children: Lelieth May, Robert George (who was deceased December 16, 2016), Elaine Prudent and Novelette Yvonne. She laid a Christian foundation for her children. Her children were able to create the same home environment for the grandchildren. She enjoyed family vacations and house parties. She had great cooking skills and she liked family gatherings. She loved her grandchildren and was very involved in their upbringing.
She will sadly be missed. We will never forget her love, kindness and generosity. She never used a negative word to break someone’s spirit. For her, it has always been encouraging words. Left to mourn her death are: her children, grandchildren, sister, nieces, cousins, in-laws, friends, past coworkers and other relatives.
Sleep in eternal peace dear Joyce. You are always in our hearts.
