Dear Carlos Jr, 

My heart and prayers are out for you and your family. I can tell you the pain won’t last but I’ll be lying. But, one thing I can tell you is that grieving is a marathon that last as long as you need. Grieve how you feel best just make sure to make him the proudest while you do. Use all the pain to help you achieve your goals and all that you talked to him about achieving. You have the closest guardian angel above and he will watch and guide you. I will continue to pray for you and your family.

You have my deepest condolences.   I’m so very sorry for your loss. 
Charlie was such a great guy and so much fun to be around. There was never a dull moment when he was in the room.  More importantly,  it was always so heartwarming to see how much he loved you, his children and his beautiful grand daughter.  I pray you find strength in each other.  Celebrate his life and rejoice in the memories you created together as a family.

Dear Charlie. 

I’m a mother of a child who was a picky eater and had 5 dishes in her menu for her entire life. My daughter Karolina met you for the first time when you took her and RJ to go bowling. You introduced and taught her how to enjoy ranch dressing. Every time she was happy coming back from your home saying she was your “echo”.  Karolina always expressed joy around you and she would mimick you when you asked her”so Chinese today?” when she was with you. My child would never try to eat anything new if I would ask her. Charlie, I was looking forward to see you during prom night and I was hoping to tell you all of this and to ask you how you managed to do it. Where did you learn this superpower? You are an amazing example for my child and you always made her feel welcome at your home. Whenever your son RJ would come over he was always talking about how much of an amazing father you are, he would always find a chance to speak about you and I understand why. I will never forget that and I will be always grateful to you for being such a warm and generous human . You have shined a light on my daughter like no one else has,  just how you have shined a light in everyone’s lives. We will all miss you Charlie, thank you for the amazing work you have done during your time with us. Rest in Paradise, and keep shining your light onto us from Gods home now.  You live forever in our hearts Charlie.

Train of Life

At birth, we boarded the train of life and met our parents,
and we believed that they would always travel by our side.
However, at some station, our parents would step down from the train, leaving us on life's journey alone.

As time goes by, some significant people will board the train:
siblings, other children, friends, and even the love of our life.

Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum.
Others will go so unnoticed that we won't realize that they vacated their seats! This train ride has been a mixture of joy, sorrow, fantasy,
expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells.

A successful journey consists of having a good relationship with all passengers, requiring that we give the best of ourselves.
The mystery that prevails is that we do not know at
which station we ourselves will step down.

Thus, we must try to travel along the track of life in the best possible way - loving, forgiving, giving, and sharing.

When the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty -
we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who continue to travel on the train of life. Let’s remember to thank our Creator
for giving us life to participate in this journey.

Over 25 years of family memories flash in my mind's eye when I think of you.  Stealing the Cozumel cruise show with your improv... Joking "Uuuck you" and "Mmmaize." (If you know, you know...) Singing karaoke, watching movies and Impractical Jokers...Doing the "Webo" on request to make me laugh... Cracking on everybody at the parks til tears rolled down our faces...Cards Against Humanity, Pokeno & Spades together... Mooning unsuspecting swimmers in lakes... Racing down the Carolinas at 95mph to fresh freestyle & house...Malibu Bay Breezes made with love.  So much Charm, Wit, Fun and Laughter...Thank you, cuz, for making even the small days feel like happy adventures.  I've been blessed to know you.  Until we meet again 🥲💓

One of my favorite memories was when you took Frank’s salmon cakes and he chased you down the hallway. Good times, good memories 💙💙

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. We always laughed so hard when we were around him and family.

Words cannot describe the loss of such a loving brother. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his family or friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew him, especially his quick wit and funny jokes.

What can I say, as there are no words that can truly capture the sadness that’s felt over this loss. Charlie was like a brother to me over the many years of friendship. My children call you “Uncle Charlie”. We’ve raised our children together. The void is deep. I don’t know too many things to be true…but this I know to be true, Charlie loved his family, and Chelsea, Brandon, RJ, Mac, and Irene were his world. His laugh was  contagious. He was one of the funniest persons I’ve ever met. And I know that in heaven, he is making the angels hold there bellies while they are laughing uncontrollably. Thank you for being a part of our lives. Rest In Peace my brother from another mother. Until we meet again. 

Charlie was a light. We could always rely on his injection of sarcasm and levity in every situation. I’m putting love, light and resolution into the universe for my beloved Irene, their fantastic children Chelsea, Brandon and RJ, my precious Chestnut (Mackenzie), Charlie’s family and our extended network of friends and loved ones. May we be comforted by our beautiful memories. 🌺

Charlie was more my brother than anything else.  Everyone thought we were related- not only because we were good-looking papi chulos; we were also a hilarious tag team.  From our yearly trips to Florida, crazy drives (because we all know that Charlie drove like Dominic Toretto from THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS), how we made fun of everyone, to our heartfelt conversations, I am blessed to have numerous memories with him.  It pains me to even write this.  I will miss him terribly.  

I love you, bro, and I will root for The Mets from now on just for you.
