A gifted writer, she braved the male-dominated advertising world of the 1960s as a creative director and copywriter. She worked at Grey advertising, TBWA/Chiat/Day, Serino Coyne, Saatchi & Saatchi, and other top-tier firms, where she held high-profile accounts ranging from Sotheby’s to Wendy’s, Zyrtec to Zoloft, Revlon to Avon, American Express to AT&T. Her work reflected her sense of humor, love of wordplay, and clean, clear language.
She never stopped writing. After a successful career in advertising, she went on to work for the non-profit Big Apple Greeter, where she combined her love for New York City and writing, crafting articles about off-the-beaten path treasures.
Music was ever-present in her life – whether she was listening to the Beatles, singing Sondheim, or composing songs for and about her grandsons.
Bobbie loved tuxedo cats, Democrats, and musical theater. She had vibrantly colored decor, an unforgettable laugh, and no interest in holding her tongue. She lived life fully and on her terms.
She had many beloved friends and many adventures, but the apple of her eye was her son, Ben, and her pride and joy were her grandsons, Peter and Charlie.
Funeral arrangements are being managed by Frank E. Campbell.
