Roose V Dalton

Roose V. “Chip” (Scearce) Dalton, age 80, of Thorn Hill, TN passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at North Knoxville Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. She was saved at an early age in her family home and joined Union Missionary Baptist Church in Thorn Hill where she remained a member until her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 52 years; Edgar D. Dalton, parents; Woodrow and Byrdie (McCoy) Scearce, 2 infant brothers; Edward and Elden Scearce, father-in-law and mother-in-law; Dudley D. and Lola (Mills) Dalton, 2 sons-in-law; Rev. Stanley Dalton and Robert L. McCoy, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Ray and Bonnie (Harvey) Dalton, and niece; Shirley (Dalton) Parker.

She is survived by her daughters; Crystal Ann Dalton McCoy, Jenny Faye Dalton (Wendell) Singleton, and Rose Ann Dalton (Billy) Smith. Grandchildren; Jennifer (Rev. James) Dalton, Wendy (Calvin) Mullins, Mason Dalton, Sarah Smith and Katie Smith. Great Grandchildren; Sofie Brin Mullins, Lane Emmett Mullins, Eoin Cameron Neas, Lailah Belle Neas , and Dalton Clay Hipshire. Sister; Anna Lee “Roon” (Blake) Collins; Nieces; Quenlyn (David) Watkins, Kimberly Collins, and Chelsea Watkins. Nephews; Preston Watkins and Allen Parker. Step grandchildren; Bob (Jill) McCoy, Mark (Tina & Lisa) McCoy. Step great grandchildren; Evan (Kylie) McCoy, Lauren, Meredith, and Sarah McCoy, and Jessica (Charles) Greene. Step great, great grandchildren; Asher Cole Hurd, Madison, Noah, and Jaxon Greene.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell, TN. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marty Seals, Rev. Earl Bowlin, and Rev. Frankie Holt officiating. Burial will follow in the Dudley D. Dalton Cemetery on the family farm in Thorn Hill, TN. Arrangements by Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell, TN.
