Rev. Jimmy Ray Brock, age 80, of New Tazewell, TN. He was born on February 10, 1944. He went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2024. He was saved in 1965 at Lone Holly Missionary Baptist Church. After Jimmy was saved he had a vision of God's hand reaching him a Bible. He began preaching and spreading the gospel of the Lord from 1965 until his death. He helped in many revivals and Pastored many churches. Through his obedience he was able to see many people saved throughout his ministry. He was always eager to share the gospel and help people to seek our Savior Jesus Christ. On February 26, 1970 Jimmy married the love of his life, his wife Beulah Harper. Presently he is a member at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church at Thorn Hill in Grainger County.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James "Jim" and Myrtle (Stansberry) Brock and Lee and Ida (Atkins) Arnwine, Parents Roy and Nancy Millie (Arnwine) Brock, and one sister who died in infancy. Jimmy will be sadly missed by all his family, friends, and loved ones. He did not meet a stranger and made friends everywhere he went.
Left to mourn his passing; his wife of nearly 55 years Beulah (Harper) Brock, Daughter and Son-in-Law Jason and Katherine (Brock) Woodruff, Grandsons: Samuel, Benjamin, and Luke Woodruff, Granddaughters: Gilliana and Rheya Woodruff all of New Tazewell, TN. Sisters: Geraldine Nichols of Carmichael, CA, Joyce Span of Sacramento, CA, and Jewel (Dale) Day of New Tazewell, TN. Brother Jerry (Jean) Brock of Washburn, TN. Uncle Ross Brock of Tazewell, TN. Several nephews, nieces, and cousins. Also, the family would like to mention the many special farmer friends that he made from high school all through life (friends too numerous to mention). The morning crew at Hardees in Tazewell, and Ewing, Newport, and Mascot Stock Barns where he frequently visited buying and selling cattle.
The family will receive friends on Sunday December 15, 2024 from 12 until 2 PM at Coffey Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 PM in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
