Jerry Rea Brooks

Jerry Rea Brooks, age 73, of Tazewell was born on July 27, 1942, and passed away on February 15, 2016 at Tennova Residential Hospice in Halls. Jerry was saved at an early age and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was married to his sweetheart, Patricia, for 53 years. Jerry was an avid farmer and a professional truck driver with England’s Manufacturing and Roadway Express. He also served the public as part of the Claiborne County Equalization Board, Claiborne County Beer Board, and the Claiborne County Farm Bureau Board. Jerry was exceptionally proud to have been an active member of his community. Jerry was preceded in death by: Parent, Virgil Hyatt and Dessie Myrtle Duncan Brooks; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Edward William and Stacy Maude Buchanan Collins.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 19, 2016 with visitation from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and funeral following at 8:00 PM. Graveside service will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Joseph Brooks Cemetery located on the family farm in the Cave Springs community of Tazewell
