Barbara J Mitchell

Barbara was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She retired from Claiborne County School System where she worked for many years. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt; she will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents White and Opal Lee Johnson. Husband Thomas Mitchell. Brother-in-law Bennie Brooks. Great-Grandchildren Andrew and Jessie Mitchell.

Barbara is survived by her son Randy Mitchell. Grandchildren Randall Mitchell, Jannie Mitchell, Marcus Mitchell, and Timothy Davis. Sisters Lucille Brooks and Gwenn Brooks. Brother-in-law Rev. Ricky Brooks. As well as nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, other family, and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to Amedysis Hospice and Smoky Mountain Medical Team; especially nurses Abbie Ramsey and Janice Williams.

The family will receive friends Friday July 5, 2024 from 11 AM until 1 PM at Coffey Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1 PM in the Coffey Funeral Home chapel. A graveside service will follow in the Pace Cemetery.
