Wanda Brooks

Wanda Brooks, 80, of New Port Richey, Florida passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on January 3, 2025 after battling cancer. She is survived by her husband, Leonard; daughter Penny and Tony, son Thomas and Heather, step daughter Angela and James; and grandchildren, Cassie and Wesley, Nathan and Cassandra, Ashley and Hayden, Kendall and Tim, Rachel, Samantha, Emma, and Mea. She also leaves behind several siblings who loved her dearly. Among them are Russ and Judy, Ernie and Bonnie, Al and Donette, Rick and Toni, Wain and Valerie. She was predeceased by her parents Mattie and Willard, and daughter Sherry.

Wanda had a zest for life and loved her family dearly. She cherished being a mother, an aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. Wanda had a yearning for knowledge that lead her to multiple educational accomplishments throughout her life. Wanda also loved to see the beauty in nature and crafted it beautifully on canvas as a natural painter. Wanda enjoyed traveling and made many trips in her life, some of her favorite places visited were the mountains in Tennessee, the waves many summers in Cocoa Beach, and museums in Europe. Wanda loved a good phone call, and many people will speak about what a wonderful, loving, and special woman she was. She truly was a peach and will be immensely missed.

A visitation for Wanda will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652, followed by a celebration of life from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
