John William Bechtel

John William Bechtel, age 88, of New Port Richey, Florida passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. John was born March 8, 1935 in New Enterprise, Pennsylvania to Warren and Elda Idessa Bechtel. John married Lucretia August 3, 1984 in Winchester, Virginia.

John was known in the banking community for 40 years, he also was a proud Veteran serving in the United States Army. John was a Deacon in the Bare Memorial Church of God in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania. He was an avid fisherman, and loved going to Canada with his Brothers and Nephews for yearly fishing trips. John fell in love with the beaches and sunshine of Florida moving with his wife 17 years ago.

John was preceded in death by both his Parents, and Step-Father Lawrence Guyer. He was also preceded in death by Brothers; Cletus, Donald, Harry Glen, Robert. He also tragically lost his first Wife Joanne, and Children Connie, Warren, and Daryl. He also lost his other Son John W Bechtel II later in life.

John is survived by his Wife Lucretia, as well as two Step-Daughters Bobbi Jo (Dave) Cunningham and Heidi (Rich) Roseberry. He is also survived by 5 Grand-Children, and 1 Great-Grandson, as well as many Nieces and Nephews and Sister-in-Law's Helen Bechtel, Betty Bechtel, Nancy Sands, Linda Brumbaugh, and Patty (George) Wilson. As well as Brother-in-Law's Richard Croft and Scott (Tammy) Croft. John is also survived and missed by his constant companion Tuffy.

Services will be held in Martinsburg, PA at a later time to follow.
