Mr. William Haney was born in Athens, Greece “with a diplomatic passport” on May 3, 1948. He passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on February 24, 2018. He is preceded in death by his sister, Caryl Ann Haney, father Col. George Haney, mother Marian Whipple Haney, and nephew Patrick Haney. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Jolanta and his two children Elizabeth and Christopher, as well as his brother Barry, sister in law Mitt and niece Angelina.
Bill was a man of few words, and he found sanctuary in his home. He was proud of his work and was fortunate to have traveled extensively. His passions were reading, and playing golf, but above all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Bill was employed by the Office of the Inspector General at the time of his passing. He will be dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
