Ginny was born to Fernand and Joyce Graugnard of Reserve, Louisiana. After graduating from Leon Godchaux High School in 1977, Ginny moved to New Orleans, where she met her husband, Arthur. They were married in 1986, and their daughter, Gia was born in 1988.
Whenever any of Ginny’s family and friends think of her, the first word that comes to mind is “giving”. She was always the first person that called to congratulate, wish a happy anniversary, help out a friend in need, or offer condolences for a loss.
Ginny loved to plan a wedding or a New Year’s party- or to just pitch in and help. GiGi, as her nieces know her, didn’t hesitate to jump on a plane to be part of a birthday celebration- complete with NOLA party favors!
Ginny will be missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her husband Arthur, daughter Gia (Justin) Reynaud of New Orleans, her mother Joyce Graugnard of Reserve, and siblings Joyce (Ralph) Ruiz of Dallas, Emile (Sharon) Graugnard of LaPlace, Fernand (Patricia) Graugnard of LaPlace, and Carolyn (Steve) Waken of Dallas. Her loss will be deeply felt by the Virgadamo and Graugnard families, Ginny’s co-workers, and her countless friends, especially during the holiday seasons.
Visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 beginning at 9:00am followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the LSU School of Medicine, Section of Gynecologic Oncology at www.medschool.lsuhsc.edu/ob_gyn/oncology/, or Perry’s Posse at www.perrysposse.org.
