Vernon graduated from Alcee Fortier High School and continued his education at UNO. He served in the United States National Guard and completed his basic training at Fort Polk. He worked the majority of his career at Ameron Protective Coatings Division and finished his career at Sigma, where he made many life-long friends. After Vernon retired, he became a volunteer at East Jefferson General Hospital's Cardiac Rehab Program for 10 years. He personally participated in the program for 35 years. Many nurses and participants of the program became close personal friends of his.
Vernon, known affectionately by his family and friends as "Bubby," met his wife and best friend, Carolyn Malbrough, at the young age of 15 at St. Matthew United Church of Christ. They married seven years later and had 61 wonderful years together. Vernon and Carolyn had two daughters, Stacie and Stephanie, and dedicated their lives to their family. They both worked tirelessly to ensure their girls had everything in life to be happy and successful. Vernon's greatest joy in later life was his three grandchildren. He made sure to be present at every school function, sporting event, and theatrical program that they each participated in. Vernon was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His favorite vacation spot was Gatlinburg, Tennessee; he and Carolyn spent almost every fall in the mountains. Vernon will be remembered by all who knew him as an extremely kind, happy, funny man who delighted in making others smile.
Vernon is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon, Sr. and Josephine Marrione Noe, and his sister Frances N. Temonia. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; daughters Stacie Noe Clawson (Bryan) and Stephanie Noe (Larry); grandchildren Bradley Clawson, Lauren Clawson, and Katherine Noe; and sister Patricia Indovina-Walle.
A private memorial with family will be celebrated at a later date.
