Theresa Boye Hamrick

A graduate of Archbishop Chapelle High School (1994) and Charity School of Nursing (2006), Theresa served her community in both Texas and Louisiana (sixteen years at East Jefferson General Hospital, then Ochsner Healthcare Systems, then People's Health Network) as a Registered Nurse, devout parishioner of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, and dedicated wife and mother. Theresa adored God, family, and camping. She loved having family gatherings, crawfish and crab boils, and going to the beach. In spite of battling lung cancer, Theresa never lost her zest for life. She will be missed by all those she touched, family, friends, and colleagues alike.

Theresa was preceded in death by her loving spouse of 17 years, Jason Hamrick; and grandparents Willis and Marilyn Boye, and Raymond Simoneaux, Sr. She is survived by parents Gary and Susan Boye; grandmother Jeanette Simoneaux; mother-in-law Virginia Hamrick; sons Cody, Eric (Samantha), Ryan (Bri), and Nathan Hamrick; brothers Sean (Melissa), Christopher (Darcy), and Stephen Boye; grandchildren Kaleb and Kai Hamrick; brothers-in-law Kenneth (Michelle) and George (Gina) Hamrick; sister-in-law Stephanie Braun (Christopher); uncles Michael and Rory Boye; aunt Sheila Laviolette (Skip); cousins Jenny Vitellaro (Ronnie), Christina Cross (Jeff), Michael Boye, and Joey Laviolette; and nieces and nephews Allison, Preston, and Elliot Boye, Victoria Holmes (Alex), Zachary Schmidt, Lauren Miller (Scott), Christopher Braun (Miranda), Xavier Simpson (Victoria), and Marques Hamrick.

The family would like to give special thanks to Drs. Ryan Griffin and Gretchen Ulfers; Theresa’s dearest friends Britney Gauthreaux and Jenny Wortmann of Hospice Associates; the Infusion Team at Ochsner Kenner; Meghan Gitreau of Ochsner Kenner, ICU; Aunt Judy and Uncle Arthur Bayer; Coach Ryan Manale and family; and most of all, the Jesuit Family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jesuit High School’s Scholarship Fund in Theresa’s name.

A visitation for Theresa will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Jesuit High School Chapel of the North American Martyrs, 4133 Banks St., New Orleans, Louisiana 70119, followed by a memorial Mass at 12:00 PM, a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM, and interment at 3:00 PM at All Saints Mausoleum, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana 70124.
