Svanh Chau passed away on September 25, 2024 at 74 years of age. He was born on April 10, 1950 in Mat Chruck Province, Cambodia. Svanh is a retired general from the Cambodian Air Force. He enjoyed flying airplanes, traveling, and reading and was also a member of the Khmer Kampuchea-Krom Federation.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Sary Neang.
Svanh is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kanetha Chau; daughter, Vatey Chau; sons, Theodore Chau, Sidney Chau, and Timothy Chau; and sisters, Neurun Chau, Sarith Tan, Kunthea Karr, Sophy Chea, and Marom Kemp.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124.
