Born on June 27, 1931, in Natchez, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Austin Price and Annlee Mock Price. Preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Lloyd R. Polson, her daughter Deborah P. Thoulion (Billy), and sisters Laura Lee Price Carroll (Jessie) and Maysie Price Richardson.
Survived by her daughter Tina P. Clark and her husband Tommy Clark. Grandmother of Patrick Clark, Timothy Clark and wife Kelly, Melissa Clark Elsensohn and husband Nick, Billy Thoulion Jr., Sophia Thoulion, and Christina Thoulion; great grandmother of Lindsey Richardson (Patrick), Tayler Mae and Easton Clark (Timothy and Kelly), Nicholas Elsensohn (Melissa and Nick), and the children of Billy Thoulion Jr., Sophia Thoulion, and Christina Thoulion, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Sophia graduated from Natchez High School in 1949. After graduation she worked for the telephone company in Natchez, MS, while studying to become a nurse for Dr. Davis in Natchez. In 1964 after marrying and moving to New Orleans, La., she graduated from Hotel Dieu Hospital as a surgical tech. Following her graduation, she worked in surgery as a surgical tech at Hotel Dieu, which later became University Hospital. After 42 years at the hospital, Sophia retired shortly following Hurricane Katrina. After a well-deserved retirement, she moved to Meraux, La. to live with her daughter Tina and son-in-law Tommy. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chalmette where she was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, and volunteered at their food pantry.
Sophia had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need of help. She enjoyed riding and competing in horse shows with her horse Tony, bowling, camping with her late husband, and spending time with her family and friends.
Services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 1:00PM followed by a service at 3:00PM.
