Ronald Douglas Smith Jr

Ronald Douglas Smith, Jr. “Ronnie” died June 8, 2014 in Milwaukee, WI at the age of 35 after a long illness. Ronnie, born in New Orleans on April 30, 1979 is survived by his father Ronald Douglas Smith, Sr., mother Sandra Arostegui Smith, sister Christine Smith Wagner, brother Ryan Matthew Smith and niece Ingrid Aracely Wagner. He is also survived by his grandfather Hernan Arostegui, grandmother Aura Elisa Arostegui and several uncles, aunts and cousins. Ronnie was a graduate of Brother Martin High School and obtained a BS degree in Political Science from Louisiana State University (LSU). While attending LSU, Ronnie also obtained his Personal Trainer certification from the Cooper Institute for Aerobics Research in Dallas, TX. Ronnie was an avid soccer player while in high school and deeply interested in the fitness industry. He worked his way up from a Personal Trainer to becoming a manager of a major fitness facility in Baton Rouge. He also started his own retail health supplement store and created his own fitness supplement product line. After moving to Milwaukee, Ronnie was accepted to Cardinal Stritch University where he was to begin his graduate studies in Sports Management in August 2014. We will miss Ronnie’s love, smile and wit.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to a Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery), on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will be private.
