Rhonda Marie Clapp

Daughter of Audrey Landry Clapp and the late Robert Joseph Clapp.

Sister of Robert Joseph Clapp II (Shelley).

Devoted aunt of Robert "Trey" Joseph Clapp III (Jenny) and Cory G. Clapp (Ariel) and great aunt of Valen, Kato, and Benjamin Clapp.

Rhonda was a lover of animals. She donated her time to volunteer walking dogs at animal shelters. Her recent pet terrier, Chewy, was a constant companion to her. He greeted her every evening with a toy for them to play with.

She also volunteered her time as a teenager by serving as a candy striper at Ochsner Foundation Hospital.

She loved music, art, shopping, yardwork, and traveling – especially to New York City. She enjoyed seeing her favorite play, Phantom of the Opera. Despite her love of travel, she was truly a NOLA girl at heart. She shared her enthusiasm for her home town by taking visitors on tours throughout Magazine Street, the French Quarter, and St Charles Avenue to look at the sights and taste the incredible food.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Ochsner Intensive Care Unit for the care they gave Rhonda and her family.

Thank you to the Chappelle extended family class of 1980 for their visits and support.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Avenue in Metairie, on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11 AM. The visitation will begin at 9 AM. Graveside service will be held privately for immediate family only.
