Peter Henry Doskey

Peter Henry Doskey, age 92, passed away at his home in Metairie on Thursday, March 21, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Yvonne Collins Doskey; his four siblings, Camille D. Horridge, Billy Doskey, Charles Doskey, and Annie Doskey; and his son, Peter Henry Doskey, Jr.

Peter is survived by his wife of 72 years, Dougherty “Dottie” Roche Doskey; his two children, Tara Catherine Doskey and Darrin Patrick Doskey (Teri); his six grandchildren, Peter Thomas Doskey, Barbara Koon (Brian), Brandi Doskey Bourgeois (Brandon), Mignon Madeleine Le Gardeur, Camille Catherine Le Gardeur, and Tristen Patrick Doskey; and his six great-grandchildren, Henry, Owen, Levi, Annie, Bankston, and Adler. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Peter was born in New Orleans on January 11, 1932. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Korea during the Korean War. He began his career as a purchasing agent with Standard Supply and Hardware, where he stayed for 25 years. He then joined Hoist and Crane Services, where he worked in sales and eventually retired.

Peter was the past president of the Louisiana Chapter of the National Association of Purchasing Managers. He was a member of the carnival organization, Le Bon Ton, as well as Chateau Estates Country Club. Peter enjoyed entertaining friends and neighbors, especially when a football game was on. He was devoted to his loving wife of 72 years, Dottie. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10:00AM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:00AM. The interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
