Naomi Friar Garvey

Naomi Friar Garvey, age 97, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 and is now resting peacefully in eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Edwin William Garvey, her sister Hilda Friar, brother Elwin Friar and beloved nephew Robert Friar, and parents Robert and Elizabeth Friar. She was the loving mother of son Michael (Faith). Born in Ocean Springs, Mississippi and lived the majority of her life in New Orleans and for the past 25 years lived in Metairie with her loving family. She is survived by grandchildren Nicholas (Renee), Kelsey, Shawn and Shelby, and great granddaughter Lola.

She worked many years for the United States Dept. of Agriculture and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and enjoyed her retirement years with her loving grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Thursday January 23 at 1pm at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11am and continue until Service time.
