Melvin P. Robicheaux

Melvin Paul Robicheaux, a native of Algiers, LA, passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on Monday, August 2, 2021. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Phyllis Guarisco Robicheaux, his parents Joseph and Hazel Robicheaux, and his two older brothers, Roland and Raymond.

He is survived by his three sons, Paul Robicheaux (Michele), Todd Robicheaux (Becky), and Cliff Robicheaux (Rhonda). He was the loving grandfather of Sean Robicheaux (Jessica), Kayla Boughrara (Brandon), Kayla Bosarge, Brittany Bosarge, Courtney Robicheaux, Cameron Robicheaux, Mason Robicheaux, Rachel Robicheaux, Grant Robicheaux, Brooke Robicheaux, Meghan Robicheaux, Peyton Robicheaux, Felicia Schimpf (Ryan), and Torie Pittari.He was the great grandfather of Colton and Avery Robicheaux, Camille and Julian Boughrara, and Kenley, Reed, and Beau Schimpf. Melvin graduated from Behrman High School in New Orleans and the University of Louisiana in Lafayette in accounting. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army from 1953-1956 and served in Korea. He was employed by State Farm Insurance Company as a Sales Agent from 1973 until the time of his death. He was a member of Timberlane Country Club, where he pursued his passion for golf. He also took great joy in LSU sports, Saints football, and his grandchildren.Relatives and friends are invited to attend services on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124.
