Mary graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Nicholls State University and her Masters from University of New Orleans. Mary was the recipient of the Brother More Schaefer Award. She was a proud high school science teacher for Brother Martin High School for 44 years. Mary had a passion for teaching science. She challenged her students at a high level of rigor, however, she was always available to support them when they needed it. Throughout her 44 years at Brother Martin, she taught thousands of students and each student had a special place in her heart. Mary also enjoyed reading, being a Cheerleading Sponsor, Golf, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her sisters, Kathleen P. Aloisio (Guy), Cecile M. Picou; nieces and nephews, Allison A. Champagne (Daniel), Kristy A. Zeringue (Jason), Chip Aloisio, Angela A. Forbes (David), Kimberly A. Broussard (Phil); great nieces and nephews, Blake, Kate and Collin Champagne; Luke, Nicholas, Caroline and Zachary Zeringue; Hailey Huckabay, Madelyn and Ella Forbes; Emily, Abby and Andrew Broussard.
Pall bearers are Chip Aloisio, Phil Broussard, Blake Champagne, David Forbes, Jason Zeringue and Luke Zeringue. Honoary Pall Bearers Guy Aloisio and Daniel Champagne.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 9:30am until mass begins at 12pm officiated by Fr. Robert Cooper. A graveside service will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 949 Menard St. Thibodaux, La officiated by Fr. Charles Perkins.
