Mary Ellen Acy Kraft

Mary Ellen Acy Kraft passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the age of 88. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 27, 1933. Mary Ellen is survived by her children, Royal (Diane), Keith (Mary), Kolt, Celynn (Eddie), and Todd (Gretchen), and her greatest joy, her grandchildren, Chase, Blake, Brandon, Kasey, Victoria, Kassidy, Kristian, Bennett, and Robyn. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Robin A. Kraft; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Boyd Acy, Jr.; and brother, Joseph Boyd Acy, III.

Mary Ellen graduated from Nichols High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. After lovingly raising six children, Mary Ellen went to work for the Bank of New Orleans. After a successful career with the bank, she enjoyed working in the office at Roosevelt Middle School. After, she pursued her passion by going to work in the clothing industry. She was a natural and turned her passion of serving others into a successful career in retail. She spent the later part of her career serving patrons at Maison Blanche, which later became Dillard's. Greeting everyone with a smile, she was loved by all. She was recognized as the "Mother of the Year" by her coworkers and management team. These awards illustrate that Mary Ellen was not only a mother to her own children, but a mother loved by all!

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 1:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00AM. The interment will follow the Mass at Lake Lawn Park.
