He was preceded in death by his parents Pablo and Consuelo Perez-Chacon and his brother , Romeo Chacon and sister Christina Chacon- Casas.
Manuel is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Henninger-Chacon, his daughter Vicky chacon Kerner, his son, Richard Manuel Chacon (Rhodus), his two granddaughters. Danielle Lynn Luminais and Ashley Elizabeth Luminais, three brothers Rene Chacon and Paul Chicon of Brownsville, TX and Rolando Chacon of New Orleans, LA and numerous great grandchildren.
He served in the US Army During the Korean Conflict. Manuel worked 25 years for Winn Dixie as a meat cutter, line supervisor, and produce inspector. He also worked as a meat cutter for Armour, Hormel, Cudahay, King Cotton, and Thompson. He also worked 13 years for Home Depot as a hardware associate and won many Homer awards for excellent customer service.
He looked like Tony Curtis, danced like Fred Astaire and loved to manicure his lawn and Garden. Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm on Thursday, July 16,2015, with a Funeral Mass to begin at 1 pm. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, La. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park. Arrangements entrusted to Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home
