Lynnen (Lynn) Louis Lambert, Jr., 79, passed away peacefully at home and went to be with his Heavenly Father and the love of his life for 54 years, Yvonne (Mickey) Lambert, on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. He was born in Metairie, Louisiana, on September 16, 1941, to the late Lynnen, Sr. and Matilda Sundmaker Lambert.
He was predeceased by his sister, Beverly Lambert Albrecht, and is survived by his brother, Lyle L. Lambert. He was a devoted father to four children, Tammy Rocker (Mike), Theresa Mulhearn (Thomas), Lynnen, III and Stacy Thornton (Ronald). He was a loving grandfather to Courtney, Chaz, Chris, Holly, Derrick, Molly and Nick, and great grandfather to Amelie, Adelyn and An-nelise. He will also be remembered with love by Linda Olivard Lambert.
He lived on the west bank of New Orleans for many years where he began his career with George Engine Company at the age of 18, retiring from Stewart and Stevenson as District Parts Manager with 48 years of service. He also lived in Lafayette, Louisiana where he had many friends and was a Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus at Holy Cross Catholic church.
He lived in Hammond, Louisiana the last 14 years of his life near family and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Lynn especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a great cook and enjoyed work-ing in his garden, playing golf, taking vacations, following the Saints and Tulane football, and going to the casino.
An inspiration and loving example, he always had a smile on his face and a gentle spirit. He was loved beyond measure and had a way of making those around him feel the same. He was truly a kind loving man and will be greatly missed.
A private graveside memorial will be held at Lake Lawn Park.
