Lloyd Joseph Hunter, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the age of 95. Mr. Hunter was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 35 years. He was a graduate of Tulane University. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. Beloved husband of the late Irma G. Hunter. Son of the late Alexander Bell Hunter and Emily Jane Sabido Hunter. Loving father of Lloyd “Jay” Hunter Jr., Greg Hunter, and M’Liss Hunter. Father in law of Tina Hunter. Grandfather of Shannon Hunter, Kyle Hunter, Kaitlyn Calhoun, and Bridget Branch. Great Grandfather of Ethan Branch, Maddie Branch and Brady Branch. Also survived by special friend Sybil Mcintosh.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
