Lee Anna DiMartino born November 26, 1930 passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. She was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. She was a second generation Sicilian from Contessa, Entelina. Lee worked many years as a successful real-estate agent. In early 1950’s she was crowned queen of the Washington Ball in Washington, D.C. You could also find Lee in the winner’s circle at the Fair Grounds when one of her horses was the winner. She is preceded in death by parents, Samuel DiMartino and Catherine Eagan; sisters, Catherine “Connie” Shambra (John) and Marlene Klein (Jack). She is survived by her children, Darlene S. Bretz (Raymond) and Samuel A. “Sammy” Schloegel (Gina); grandchildren, Justin Hartenstein, Sr. (Tiffanie), Brandon Hartenstein (Alex), Katherine “Katie” Schloegel (John), and Samantha Cimo (Craig); great grandchildren, Justin Hartenstein, Jr. and Avangeline “Ava” Hartenstein. She is also survived by her loyal dog, Snow. The family would like to thank Tyheasha “Tasha” Crumedy, who cared for Lee for many years and was a dear friend. A private service will be held in her memory.
