Joy Carriere Hoffmann passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the age of 87. She is the beloved wife of the late Gerard Joseph Hoffmann Sr, mother of Gerard J. Hoffmann, Jr. (Kay), Sheila Hoffmann Knudsen (Kevin), Margaret Elizabeth Hoffmann (Ralph), Cynthia Hoffmann Wingfield (late William “Dee”), Jennifer Marie Hoffmann, Jeanne Hoffmann Waguespack (late Raymond), Jonathan Paul Hoffman, Raymond Joseph Hoffmann (Nicole) and the late Michael Kirby Hoffmann, Patrick Michael Hoffmann (Jean), and Timothy Francis Hoffmann (Colleen), daughter of the late Buel Lewis Bourgeois and the late Elsa Mae Bourgeois, and sister of Kirby Bourgeois Accardo and the late Buel Lewis Bourgeois, Jr. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. The interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery, which is on the same grounds as the funeral home.
