He was the beloved husband of the late Antoinette “Tonie” Monjure Tauzy for 58 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. Tauzy, Sr. and Velia Romaire Tauzy, and step-mother, Sylvia Bouche Tauzy. Father of Denise Tauzy, Mary Lynn (Brian) Soniat, Jeanne (Jimmy) deMontluzin, and David Tauzy; grandfather of Michelle and Danielle deMontluzin; brother of Betty T. Hayne (Walt) and Sylvia T. Schwarz (Irvin), and the late Helen T. Chatelain, Sylvain E. Tauzy, and Raymond B. Tauzy.
He was a parishioner of St. Angela Merici Parish and past president of the St. Angela Merici Senior Citizens and awarded Senior Citizen of the year of Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of New Orleans. He was also president of the Electrical Assoc. of New Orleans. He was a retired member of I.B.E.W. local 130 and a member of the I.A.E.I. He volunteered at JPAS and Rivertown theatrical productions. He proudly served his country as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He loved dancing at the Jefferson Orleans, gardening, golfing, and helping/serving others.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 11:00AM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:30AM. The interment will follow the Mass at All Saints Mausoleum (in Metairie Cemetery).
