James Edmund Carter, affectionately known as “Jamie”, “Yule” or “Q-Ball” passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022 at the age of 45. He was born on March 6, 1977. A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, he graduated from Carencro High School. After attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, he worked in the restaurant business before becoming a Wholesale Auto Broker. He was the owner of American Autobrokers, Online and co-owner of American Automotive Group. He was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena, past president of the St. Catherine of Siena Men’s Club and a member of the Krewe of Endymion. James had a passion for hunting and shared that passion with his children. He was a loved coach at St. Catherine of Siena and Pontiff Playground. He was an avid tennis shoe collector and took pride in being the indisputable crawfish boil master.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Melissa Caruso Carter; his parents, Carolyn (Sue) Marie Carter and Dennis Edward Carter of Cecilia, La; his in- laws, Mary Ann Caruso and Ronald Joseph Caruso, Jr.; his daughter, Emma Elizabeth Carter (14); his twin sons, Cole Anthony Carter and Owen Anderson Carter (13); his sister, Dana Ann Gary (Donovan Gary); his brother-in-law, Randy Joseph Caruso (Lindsey Caruso); his sister-in-law, Mandy Ann Caruso; his nieces and nephews, Gabrielle Gary, Adam Gary, Giuliana Hutchinson, Stella Caruso, and Mason Caruso; and his beloved dogs, Lucy Carter and Elly Carter.
The family would like to give special thanks to the St. Catherine of Siena Men’s Club and Co-Op Club, with gratitude especially for Father Tim, Father Andrew, and Deacon Kevin Seay.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend services held at St. Catherine of Siena, 105 Bonnabel Blvd. Metairie, LA on Saturday, August 13, 2022. A visitation will be from 10:00AM until Mass begins at 1:00PM. A reception for guests will follow.
