JACOB FREDERICK MULLER, JR (J. Fred) 89 years old, died August 30, 2016 at his home with family members present. Born in New Orleans on October 13, 1926 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Frederick Muller, Sr. he was also predeceased by his son, John Frederick Muller. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beverley McArthur Muller, his daughters Ann Muller and Alison Muller-Pearl, his grandchildren, Alexis Pearl Borowicz (Keith), Thomas Pearl, John (Jack) Pearl, and Connor Pearl, and his great-granddaughter Blake Alison Borowicz. He is also survived by his sister, Mrs. Frederick Stafford, his sister-in-law, Mrs. Townsley St. Paul, and several nieces and nephews. Fred graduated from Tulane University where he was a member of SAE fraternity. He worked for many years in the family furniture manufacturing business, where he learned his lifetime love of wood and making fine furniture for his home. When the family business closed he worked in finance as a stock broker and then in the trust department of Hibernia Bank. He was a former member of the Pass Christian Yacht club, and his friends knew him in his earlier years as an avid duck hunter. Funeral services will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 with visitation at 11:00 a.m. and services at noon. His three granddsons and grandson-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Donations in his memory may be made to The New Orleans Museum of Art or charity of your choice.
