He was the only child of George F. Smith, Sr. and Adelaide Prevost Smith. He attended Jesuit High School and Louisiana State University, and worked in the oil industry.
George is survived by his wife, Y. Lovey Smith, his seven children, Tim Smith, George F. Smith, III, Courtney Zoller, Stacey Myers, Michael Smith, James Smith, and Ty Smith, and 21 grandchildren.
George lived his life with faith, courage, and class. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church, 130 Baronne St. in New Orleans, on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 1:30PM. The interment will be privately held at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
