Charlina Sadler Mulkey, age 84, passed away at her home in Mandeville surrounded by her daughters and husband of 59 years on September 23, 2024. Charlina was born in New Orleans on September 14, 1940, to Charles Archer Sadler, Jr., and Isolina Glynn Sadler.
Charlina was a devoted friend to many and enjoyed a long career as a legislative assistant to Senator John Hainkel.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse Wayne (Butch) Mulkey, and her daughters Paulette Mulkey Traina (Dominic) and Jennifer Mulkey. Her grandchildren are Christina Traina Smith (Jacob), Mallory Traina (Keith), Allison Roberts Pruitt (Cody), and Harrison Roberts (Maddie). Her great-grandchildren are Dominic Talley, Dawson Pruitt, Emmett Pruitt, Archer Smith, and Poppy Smith. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Wayne Mulkey, and her parents.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans. A chapel service will be held at 12:00 noon, with interment thereafter at Lake Lawn Park.
