Charlene Thibodaux Tregre

Charlene Mary Thibodaux Tregre departed this life peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 82 early Saturday, November 30, 2024 due to complications of pancreatic cancer. She was born and raised in Reserve, LA, graduating from Leon Godchaux High School, and was a longtime resident of Metairie, LA.

Charlene was preceded in death by her son, Russ Paul Tregre; her parents, Charles Gratien II and Yolande Vicknair Thibodaux; her brothers, Charles “Tibby” Gratien Thibodaux, III and Randolph “Randy” E.P. Thibodaux, Sr.; and her Godson, Dominick “Nickey” Locascio, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her partner of 37 years, Susan E. Simonds; her son, Noah Scott Tregre; her grandson, Colin Matthew Tregre; her sister, Shirley Thibodaux Locascio; her sisters in law, Nancy Brown Thibodaux and Lois Barrios Thibodaux; and her much-loved doggie daughter, Sophie. Charlene is also survived by her Godson, Keith J. Thibodaux, Sr. and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Charlene retired from Conco Food Services where she worked for over 40 years in the data processing department.

She was an active member and former president of both the Republican Women of Jefferson and the Pontchartrain-Metairie Lions Club.

Charlene was an avid Golfer and loved playing on the beautiful greens at Colonial Country Club where she was a member. She also enjoyed traveling to many states to play golf and collected golf balls from courses where she played.

Charlene loved to watch sports on T.V., especially the New York Yankees, Tulane University Football and the New Orleans Saints.

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Charlene’s life on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Noon.

Burial will be private.
