Barbara Legendre Aymami

Barbara Legendre Aymami born April 20, 1938 in New Orleans, LA and passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the age of 85. Barbara attended Jefferson High School where she met the love of her life, Jack Aymami. She loved attending dances and their favorite song was “Blue Moon”. She always said her high school years were the best in her life. Barbara loved spending time with her brothers, daughters, cousins, and grandchildren eating seafood and playing cards. She was a huge LSU fan and loved attending football games and watching LSU baseball. Geaux Tigers! Her biggest accomplishments were being a wife and mother and she was very proud of her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty one years, John “Jack” Aymami; parents, Leona and Frederick Legendre. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Huck (Bill) and Dawn Hammond; brothers, Frederick Legendre, Jr., Aubrey Legendre, and Michael Legendre; grandchildren, Ronnie Buckner, Stacie Griffis, Kristen Beard, William Huck, Dustin Hammond; great grandchildren, Maclynn, Tripp, Dusty, Justice, Ashton, Rya, Caroline, Jack, Harper, Sophia, and Joseph. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will be held at 11:00AM followed by a service at 1:00PM. Interment will be at Lake Lawn Park. Celebration of life immediately following at Lake Lawn Event Center. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Shriners Hospital.
